Ashley Purdy (born January 28, 1979) was the bassist for Black Veil Brides until his departure in November 2019. In March 2013, he started a clothing line called Ashley Purdy Fashion inc (APFI).
Early Life
Ashley Purdy was born in Bell County, Texas and his family moved to Fort Worth, Texas when he was little and when he was older he had to move to Berger, Missouri and be raised by his grandparents. Ashley Purdy has now confirmed he legally changed his name in 2003 when he moved to Los Angeles, California in a interview he was featured in a 2007 interview with MySpace Records with his old band Stolen Hearts. Unlike most of the other Black Veil Brides members, he was never bullied and was actually considered cool for being different. He would frequently get kicked out of his art classes. He lived in a small town in Missouri until his 18th birthday and moved to Los Angeles in order to become a graphic designer, musician, or singer. He wanted to do this after having many inspirations.
Before joining Black Veil Brides, he created three bands named Orgasm, Children of the Beast (Motley Crue tribute band), and Stolen Hearts.
Black Veil Brides
Ashley Purdy was contacted by Andy Biersack via Craigslist and was asked if he wanted to join Black Veil Brides.
As revealed in an interview, he originally planned to steal Black Veil Brides' members into his own band. However, he ended up liking it and stayed without any negative intentions.[1]
In November 2019, Ashley and the band agreed to part ways.[2]
Personal Life
Ashley Purdy is 5'9. He loves drinking Jack Daniels and Pepsi. He has been in relationships with Deanna Riordan, Nikki Benz, and Kina Tavarozi. He’s in a relationship with Jessicka Addams now. Nikki and Ashley were together for a brief fling, Deanna and Ashley were together in a on again off again romance, but Kina and Ashley used to be together in a serious committed monogamous relationship and are still close friends today. He lives in Nashville, Tennessee.
