Alive and Burning

Alive and Burning is Black Veil Brides's first live DVD which was released on July 10, 2015.^[1] It features footage from the sold-out show at the Wiltern Theater on November 1, 2014 as part of the Black Mass tour. A special edition Best Buy version is sold which includes a bandana and backstage pass.^[2]

Release and Promotion[]

News of a Black Veil Brides live DVD began on social media and the topic was spoken about by Andy Biersack during several interviews. The release date and artwork of the DVD were unveiled on That Metal Show when Andy was invited as a guest.^[3] Black Veil Brides previewed clips of Alive and Burning and promoted it on social media.

On June 4, 2015, Black Veil Brides held a screening of the concert film at the Harmony Gold Theater in Hollywood.

Commercial Reception[]

Alive and Burning hit No. 1 on the Soundscan Music DVD chart and was the No. 1 DVD in the United States and United Kingdom.^[4]

Critical Reception[]

Alive and Burning received mainly positive reviews. ToddStar Photography rated it a 10/10 and favorably commented on each track.^[5] Chad Bowar of About.com gave it 4 out of 5 stars and said it has big hooks and singalong choruses.^[6] Octavio Ramos of AXS stated that it is "a hell of a show" and that Black Veil Brides is one of the reasons why modern rock still lives.^[7]

The cover artwork for Alive and Burning was designed by Richard Villa III, who designed the artwork for all of Black Veil Brides's four studio albums.
